1cup240 ml boiling water
1cup240 ml milk of choice (whole milk, oat milk, or almond milk)
2-3tablespoonsof lavender honey syrupto taste
Optional Garnishes:
Whipped cream or milk foam
A sprinkle of dried lavender or a drizzle of honey
Instructions
Make the Lavender Honey Syrup:
Combine the honey, water, and dried culinary lavender in a small saucepan. Heat over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until the honey dissolves completely. Avoid bringing the mixture to a boil.
Once the honey has dissolved, remove the saucepan from the heat and let the mixture steep for 5 minutes to infuse the lavender flavor.
Strain the syrup through a fine mesh strainer to remove the lavender buds and transfer it to an airtight container. Let it cool completely before use. The syrup can be stored in the refrigerator for up to one week.
Brew the Tea:
Brew the tea: Boil 1 cup (240 ml) of water. Add the Earl Grey tea bags or loose-leaf tea to two mugs and pour the boiling water evenly into each mug.
Brew the tea: Steep the tea for 5-10 minutes, depending on your desired strength. Remove the tea bags or strain out the loose leaves, then set the brewed tea aside.
Prepare the Milk:
Prepare the milk: Pour 1 cup (240 ml) of your milk of choice into a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat until steaming but not boiling.
Prepare the milk: Use a milk frother, steam wand, or whisk to froth the milk until light and creamy. If you don’t have a frother, you can also shake the milk in a sealed jar for about 30 seconds and then microwave it for 15-20 seconds to stabilize the foam.
Assemble the Lattes:
Assemble the lattes: Stir 2-3 tablespoons of the lavender honey syrup into each mug of brewed tea, adjusting sweetness to your preference.
Assemble the lattes: Slowly pour the steamed milk into each mug, holding back the foam with a spoon. Once the milk is added, spoon the frothy milk on top to create a luxurious layer.
Add Garnishes and Serve:
Add garnishes and serve: For an extra-special touch, top each latte with whipped cream or an additional layer of milk foam. Garnish with a sprinkle of dried lavender or a drizzle of honey. Serve immediately and enjoy your cozy Honey Lavender London Fog Lattes!
Notes
Tips for the Best Latte Ever
Choose the Right Tea: Use a high-quality Earl Grey tea or loose-leaf tea for the richest flavor.
Measure the Lavender Carefully: Too much lavender can overpower the drink. Stick to the recommended amount for a balanced floral note.
Don’t Overheat the Milk: Heating the milk beyond steaming can affect its texture and taste. Aim for medium heat.
Perfect Frothing: For non-dairy options, oat milk froths are the best. If the frothing isn’t working, try a handheld frother or whisk vigorously.
Adjust Sweetness to Your Liking: Start with 1 teaspoon of lavender honey syrup per serving and add more if needed. You can always adjust to taste.
Store Syrup Properly: Use an airtight container to keep your lavender honey syrup fresh for up to a week.
Experiment with Garnishes: A drizzle of honey, a sprinkle of dried lavender, or even a dash of cinnamon can add a special touch to your latte.
