Ingredients

For the Peach Simple Syrup

  • Organic cane sugar – Organic cane sugar dissolves easily, creating a smooth syrup that lets the fresh peach flavor shine. Regular granulated sugar is an excellent substitute.
  • Water – Water dissolves the sugar and gently draws the natural flavor from the peaches. Equal parts sugar and water create a classic simple syrup that’s perfect for homemade drinks.
  • Fresh peaches, peeled and diced – Fresh peaches give the syrup its naturally sweet, fruity flavor. Ripe peaches produce the best flavor, but frozen peaches can be substituted after thawing.

For the Peach Lemonade

  • Honey or organic cane sugar – Honey adds a light floral sweetness, while organic cane sugar creates a classic lemonade flavor. Either sweetener works well, so use your favorite.
  • Freshly squeezed lemon juice – Fresh lemon juice gives the lemonade its bright, refreshing flavor and balances the sweetness of the peach syrup. Fresh juice provides the best flavor.
  • Vanilla extract – A splash of vanilla enhances the peach flavor and adds subtle depth without overpowering the lemonade.
  • Prepared Peach Simple Syrup – This homemade syrup gives the lemonade its fresh peach flavor while blending smoothly into every glass. Extra syrup is delicious stirred into iced tea, sparkling water, or cocktails.
  • Cold water – Cold water balances the concentrated syrup and lemon juice, creating a smooth, refreshing lemonade. Filtered water is a good choice if your tap water has a strong taste.
  • Ice – Ice keeps the lemonade cold and refreshing. Add it to individual glasses instead of the pitcher to prevent the lemonade from becoming diluted.

Variations & Add-Ins

  • Make it sparkling – Replace some or all of the cold water with chilled sparkling water or club soda just before serving.
  • Add even more peach flavor – Stir in an extra splash of the leftover peach simple syrup for a sweeter, peachier lemonade.
  • Try fresh herbs – Garnish each glass with fresh mint or basil for a refreshing twist that’s perfect for summer entertaining.
  • Make a large batch – Double or triple the recipe to fill a beverage dispenser for family reunions, cookouts, birthdays, and other summer gatherings.
  • Turn it into a peach drink bar – Serve Peach Lemonade alongside Peach Iced Tea, sparkling water, and extra Peach Simple Syrup so everyone can customize their own refreshing summer drink.

Recipe Tips

Choose ripe peaches for the sweetest syrup – The flavor of this lemonade starts with the peaches, so ripe, fragrant fruit will always give you the best results. Peaches that yield slightly when gently pressed release more juice as they simmer, creating a naturally sweet syrup with incredible flavor.

Fresh lemon juice makes all the difference – Freshly squeezed lemons provide a bright, clean citrus flavor that pairs beautifully with the homemade peach syrup. Bottled lemon juice can work if needed, but fresh lemons create a much fresher tasting lemonade.

Let the peach syrup cool completely – Warm syrup will melt the ice and dilute the lemonade. Chilling the syrup before mixing keeps the drink cold and refreshing from the first glass to the last.

Taste and adjust before serving – The sweetness of peaches can vary throughout the season. Before serving, taste the lemonade and adjust it to your preference. Add a little more peach simple syrup for extra sweetness or a splash of fresh lemon juice if you’d like a brighter citrus flavor.

Save the extra peach syrup – This recipe makes a little more peach simple syrup than you’ll need for one pitcher of lemonade. Store the extra syrup in the refrigerator and use it to make Peach Iced Tea, stir it into sparkling water, sweeten iced coffee, or drizzle it over Brown Butter Peach Custard Ice Cream.

Add ice just before serving – If you’re making the lemonade ahead of time, refrigerate it without ice. Add ice to the pitcher or individual glasses just before serving so the lemonade stays full of flavor instead of becoming watered down.

Garnish for a beautiful presentation – Fresh peach slices, lemon wheels, and sprigs of mint turn a simple pitcher of lemonade into a beautiful drink for brunches, cookouts, baby showers, and backyard gatherings.

Double the recipe for entertaining – This lemonade is easy to double or triple when serving a crowd. Prepare the peach simple syrup ahead of time, then mix everything together shortly before guests arrive for the freshest flavor.

Instructions

  1. Cook the peach syrup – In a medium saucepan, combine the organic cane sugar, water, and diced peaches. Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely.
  2. Simmer the peaches – Reduce the heat to low and gently mash the peaches with the back of a wooden spoon. Simmer for about 10 minutes to draw out their juices and flavor.
  3. Steep and strain – Remove the saucepan from the heat, cover, and let the peaches steep for 15 to 20 minutes. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve, pressing gently on the peaches to extract as much syrup as possible. Let the syrup cool completely.
  4. Juice the lemons – While the syrup cools, juice the fresh lemons and remove any seeds. Freshly squeezed lemon juice gives the lemonade its bright, refreshing flavor.
  5. Sweeten the lemonade – In a large pitcher, whisk together the cooled peach simple syrup, honey (or organic cane sugar), and vanilla extract until the sweetener has dissolved.
  6. Add the lemon juice – Pour in the freshly squeezed lemon juice and stir until fully combined with the peach syrup.
  7. Finish with water – Add the cold water and stir well. Taste the lemonade and adjust with a little more peach syrup for sweetness or extra lemon juice for a brighter citrus flavor if desired.
  8. Chill – Refrigerate the lemonade for at least 30 minutes if time allows so the flavors can meld together and the pitcher is thoroughly chilled.
  9. Prepare the glasses – Fill serving glasses with ice and garnish with fresh peach slices, lemon wheels, or sprigs of mint for a beautiful presentation.
  10. Serve – Pour the chilled Peach Lemonade over the ice and enjoy immediately. Refrigerate any leftovers and stir before serving again.

Freezing and Storage

  • Refrigerator – Store Peach Lemonade covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Stir well before serving since the ingredients may naturally settle.
  • Freeze the extra peach syrup – Leftover peach simple syrup can be stored in a freezer-safe container or frozen in ice cube trays for up to 3 months. Thaw a cube whenever you’d like to flavor Peach Iced Tea, sparkling water, iced coffee, or another pitcher of lemonade.
  • Freeze lemonade concentrate – For longer storage, freeze the lemonade before adding the cold water. When you’re ready to serve, thaw the concentrate in the refrigerator and stir in the water just before pouring.
  • Make Ahead – Prepare the peach simple syrup up to 2 weeks in advance and refrigerate it until you’re ready to make the lemonade. It’s an easy way to have a refreshing homemade drink ready for warm afternoons or unexpected guests.
  • Large Batch Tip – This recipe doubles and triples beautifully for summer parties, family reunions, and backyard barbecues. Making the peach simple syrup ahead of time makes serving day quick and easy.

  • Large Pitcher
  • Measuring Cups and Spoons
  • Citrus Juicer
  • Sharp knife
  • Cutting Board

Ingredients

For the Peach Simple Syrup

  • 1 cup water 240 grams
  • 2 cups fresh peaches peeled and diced, about 300 grams

For the Peach Lemonade

  • ¾ cup honey 255 grams (or ¾ cup organic cane sugar, 150 grams)
  • ¾ cup freshly squeezed lemon juice about 180 grams
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 5 grams
  • 1 cup Peach Simple Syrup prepared above
  • 4 cups cold water 960 grams
  • Ice for serving

Instructions

  1. Combine the syrup ingredients – Add the organic cane sugar, water, and diced peaches to a medium saucepan. Stir everything together before placing the pan over medium heat.
  2. Cook the syrup – Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, stirring occasionally until the sugar has completely dissolved and the peaches begin to soften.
  3. Mash and simmer – Reduce the heat to low and gently mash the peaches with the back of a wooden spoon to release their juices. Continue simmering for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the syrup is fragrant and the peaches are very soft.
  4. Steep the syrup – Remove the saucepan from the heat, cover, and let the peaches steep for 15 to 20 minutes. This extra time allows even more fresh peach flavor to infuse the syrup.

  7. Add the water – Pour in the cold water and stir well until everything is fully combined. Taste and adjust with a little more lemon juice or Peach Simple Syrup if you'd like a tarter or sweeter lemonade.
  8. Serve and enjoy – Fill glasses with ice or add ice to the pitcher just before serving. Garnish with fresh peach slices, lemon wheels, or fresh mint for an extra pop of summer flavor.
