This strawberry frappe is cold, creamy, and blended thick with frozen strawberries for fresh berry flavor in every sip. It pours smooth and frosty into a tall glass, topped with whipped cream and a drizzle of strawberry syrup for a simple, café-style treat you can make at home.

When strawberry season arrives, this strawberry frappe is one of the first things I think about making. You can make this recipe with or without coffee, and even out of strawberry season, because it uses frozen strawberries. I personally use Teecino for any of my coffee recipes, for one coffee just doesn’t agree with me, and my already active brain just doesn’t need that extra boost.
If you enjoy strawberries as much as I do, you might also like this strawberry shortcake biscuit style made with fresh milled flour, creamy strawberry cheesecake popsicles, homemade strawberry tea, and simple strawberry salad with strawberry vinaigrette.
Why You’ll Love This Recipe
- Creamy and refreshing – Frozen strawberries and cream blend into a thick, smooth frappe with real berry flavor in every sip.
- Made with simple ingredients – Everything goes into the blender at once, making this easy to prepare at home.
- Balanced sweetness – The strawberries bring natural flavor while sugar and vanilla round it out without overpowering.
- Café-style at home – Topped with whipped cream and strawberry syrup, it feels special but comes together in minutes. Make it with or without the coffee.

Ingredients

Variations & Add-Ins
- Chocolate Strawberry Frappe – Blend in 1 tablespoon of chocolate syrup or drizzle chocolate inside the glass before pouring.
- Strawberry Cheesecake Frappe – Add 1–2 tablespoons of softened cream cheese to the blender for a thicker, dessert-style version.
- Strawberry Matcha Frappe – Blend in ½ teaspoon matcha powder for a layered strawberry and green tea flavor.
- Extra Thick Version – Use slightly less milk or add a few more frozen strawberries for a thicker consistency.
Recipe Tips
Use frozen strawberries, not fresh – Frozen berries create the thick, frosty texture without watering down the drink.
Blend until completely smooth – Let the blender run long enough so there are no strawberry chunks or ice bits left.
Adjust thickness as needed – Add a splash of milk if too thick or a few extra frozen strawberries if you prefer it thicker.
Taste before pouring – Strawberries vary in sweetness, so adjust the sugar slightly if needed.
Chill the glass first – A cold glass helps the frappe stay thick longer.
Drizzle syrup before pouring – Swirl strawberry syrup inside the glass first for a café-style look and extra berry flavor.
How To Make Strawberry Frappe
Step 1: Brew the coffee*optional – Brew 1 cup of strong coffee or a caffeine-free alternative such as Teecino Dark Roast. Allow it to cool to room temperature before using so it doesn’t melt the ice and thin the frappe. Coffee can be skipped; this is optional.
Step 2: Prepare the glass – If using strawberry syrup, drizzle it around the inside of a tall glass and place the glass in the refrigerator while you blend. This helps the drizzle set slightly and keeps the frappe colder longer.

Step 3: Add ingredients to the blender – To a high-speed blender, add the frozen strawberries, milk, heavy whipping cream, ice cubes, sugar, vanilla extract, and the cooled coffee*.

Step 4: Blend until thick and smooth – Start blending on medium, then increase to high speed. Blend for 30–60 seconds, or until the mixture is completely smooth with no visible strawberry pieces or ice bits. The texture should be thick but pourable.
Step 5: Check the consistency – If the mixture is too thick to blend properly, add a small splash of milk and blend again. If it feels thinner than you prefer, add a few more frozen strawberries and pulse briefly.

Step 6: Pour and Serve – Pour the frappe into the prepared glass. Top with whipped cream and drizzle additional strawberry syrup over the top. Serve with a straw while thick and frosty for the best texture and flavor.
Freezing & Storage
- Best enjoyed fresh – This strawberry frappe has the best texture right after blending while it is thick and frosty.
- Short-term refrigeration – If needed, store leftovers in a sealed jar in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Stir or shake well before serving, as separation is natural.
- Freezing option – Pour leftovers into a freezer-safe container and freeze. When ready to use, let it soften slightly at room temperature, then re-blend to restore the smooth texture.
- Do not reheat – This drink is meant to be served cold. Warming will change the texture and cause separation.
